James is a professional Chartered Accountant and a Chartered Insurer. He has over 34 years’ experience in the Insurance Industry and was the former Managing Director of African Life Insurance Limited. As part of his experience, James rose through the ranks of State Insurance Company (SIC), serving in various capacities from 1985 to 2007.

From 2008 to 2016, he was General Manager (Finance & Admin) at UT Life Insurance Company Limited. He joined African Life Assurance in later part of 2016 as the General Manager (Finance & Administration). He was later appointed by the Board of Directors as the Managing Director.

James holds an Executive MBA from GIMPA, Ghana and a Diploma in Oil and Gas from the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana.

James is a member of Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICA) Ghana and a member of the Association of Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII), United Kingdom.

James has developed capacity in the Insurance and Reinsurance Accounting through several training programs over the period. This includes Reinsurance Accounting attachment at Heath Lambert Group Limited in London 2001. Others include Fraud detection and prevention, Continuing Professional Education on Finance and aspects of  International Financial Reporting Standards. He attended several international conferences both within and outside Ghana.

James provides Statutory Financial Management services support to the National Insurance Commission.
